My recent visit to El Farallon, located within the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos, was a memorable experience, but there are a few things to keep in mind for future guests. Firstly, it's essential to make a reservation before your stay because trying to secure a dinner reservation on the day of check-in can be challenging. Planning ahead ensures you get the best dining time.
El Farallon is known for its breathtaking views of the ocean, and it certainly lives up to the reputation as an establishment that emphasizes the ambiance. The combination of sea breezes and live music in the background creates a lovely atmosphere that adds to the overall dining experience.
When it comes to the food, I have mixed feelings. While the restaurant's seafood offerings are undoubtedly fresh, I didn't find them to be exceptionally impressive in terms of flavor and seasoning. For a seafood-focused restaurant, I was expecting a bit more of a "wow" factor in the taste department. However, the quality of ingredients is undeniable.
The menu offers a variety of options, and the catch of the day is prominently displayed, allowing you to make your selection. We opted for the grilled catch of the day, and it was well-prepared, but I wished for a bit more creativity in the flavors and presentation.
What sets El Farallon apart is the stunning oceanfront setting, which makes it a unique place to dine in Cabo San Lucas. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a romantic dinner with an incredible view, this restaurant is definitely worth trying. The ambiance and the overall experience compensate for any minor shortcomings in the cuisine.
